Reinforced geogrid is a geosynthetic material, mainly used to increase the stability of rock and soil or improve the bearing capacity. It is a kind of geotechnical reinforcement material. It is formed by punching holes in materials such as polypropylene or high-density polyethylene, and then cold-stretching them in one or two directions on a stretching machine to form a plate with rectangular or square holes. This stretching action greatly increases the strength and stiffness of the material. The larger holes allow larger soil and stone particles to be embedded, which not only improves its own strength and stiffness, but also forms a bite force with the soil, increases friction, and makes its friction coefficient with the soil reach 0.8~1.0, making it an ideal reinforcement material. In addition, reinforced geogrid also has the characteristics of high strength, small deformation, small creep, corrosion resistance, and long life. It can meet the use needs of various permanent projects for more than 100 years, and has excellent performance and good dimensional stability. The construction is convenient and fast, the cycle is short, and the cost is low. It can effectively shorten the project cycle and save 10%-50% of the project cost.
Reinforced geogrids have a wide range of applications, including but not limited to soft soil foundation reinforcement, retaining walls and road crack resistance projects in roads, railways, bridge abutments, ramps, docks, revetments, dams, slag yards, etc. It is made of high-strength steel wire that is specially treated with polyethylene and other additives, and is extruded into a composite high-strength tensile strip. The single strip is woven or sandwiched at a certain interval in the longitudinal and transverse directions, and the intersection is welded using a special enhanced bonding fusion welding technology to form it. This material has a rough embossing on the surface. It is a high-strength reinforced geotextile with unique properties and functions. It is often used as reinforcement for reinforced soil structures or reinforcement for composite materials.
